Decoration compatibility

VisePrint guidance derived from this garment's stated fabric and construction — not manufacturer claims.

Blended fabric prints reliably; match the ink system to the dominant fiber.

  • Dye-migration risk on polyester content — use a low-bleed or poly-specific ink system and cure at lower temperatures.
  • Textured fleece surface — expect some ink gain; a higher-mesh screen and an underbase help keep edges clean.

Compatible with this fabric type at correct press temperature and pressure.

  • Lofted fleece surface — press with slightly higher pressure for full transfer contact.

Cotton-rich blend prints acceptably; expect a softer, more vintage result than 100% cotton.

  • Water-based DTG ink absorbs poorly into polyester and can wash out — pretreat and test.
  • Non-flat fleece surface reduces DTG detail.

Embroidery

Excellent

Midweight-plus fabric supports dense stitch counts without distortion.

  • Lofted fleece — a water-soluble topping keeps small lettering from sinking.

Standard HTV and transfers apply well at the correct temperature for this fiber mix.

Sublimation

Not Recommended

Cotton-dominant fabric does not bond sublimation dye.

Decoration results can vary by equipment, ink, transfer material, garment color, and production settings. Always test before beginning a full production run.

About this blank

J. America Zen Fabric is a specialty product that undergoes a variety of processes to create its unique and textured look. As a result, the finished garments will shed a portion of their darker fibers,  becoming noticeably lighter in shade after the initial laundry cycles. For best results, please wash and dry separately, following label instructions, for the initial launderings. Significant lint build up in the dryer is normal in the initial laundry cycles and can be avoided by hanging to dry.

Country of origin

Made in China.

Shown for the Cement colorway; origin can vary by color and production run.

Terms used on this page

Polyester
Polyester is a synthetic, petroleum-based fiber prized for durability, quick-dry performance, and colorfastness, but prone to dye migration under screen-print inks.
Burnout Fabric
Burnout fabric is a poly-cotton blend chemically treated to dissolve the cotton in a pattern, leaving a sheer, worn-in look prized for vintage tees.
Fleece
Fleece is a knit fabric with a brushed, napped interior that traps warm air, forming the base of hoodies, crewnecks, and sweatpants.
Ribbed Collar
A ribbed collar is a stretchy rib-knit neckband, usually 1x1 rib, whose recovery after stretching depends heavily on how much spandex is blended in.
V-notch (V-insert)
A V-notch, or V-insert, is a small triangular rib patch set into the collar of a crewneck sweatshirt, a retro detail signaling a heavier, premium vintage-style blank.
Tear-Away Label
A tear-away label is a neck or side-seam tag stitched along a single perforated line so it pulls out cleanly by hand for private labeling.
