Weights

Heavyweight t-shirts (5.5 oz and up)

Heavyweight tees — 5.5 oz/yd² and up — are having their streetwear moment, and they have always been the jobsite standard. The extra fabric carries dense ink without shine-through and holds its shape wash after wash.

Every tee below states its weight at 5.5 oz or heavier; the top of the list reaches 9 oz.

How to choose

  • For boxy, drop-shoulder merch, weight is the silhouette — 6.5 oz+ is where the look starts.
  • Screen printing loves these surfaces; they take thick deposits without ripple.

What goes wrong

  • Selling heavyweight for summer event crews — thickness is warmth.
