Unisex Fit

Unisex fit starts from a men's body block: straight or barely tapered side seams, a standard set-in sleeve, average shoulder width for the labeled size, and a body length built for a male torso. Sizes usually run S through 3XL or beyond off one chart, with no separate grading for a woman's proportions — the same small is the same small whether a man or woman orders it.

Ordering one style across a whole group — a 5K race, a company picnic, a family reunion — is exactly what unisex fit is for; one size chart, one cut, no separate men's and women's SKUs to track. We still tell every event organizer the same thing: unisex isn't gender-neutral in fit, just gender-neutral in stocking.

For mixed groups, unisex is the safe default when you don't know the roster's makeup in advance. Women ordering unisex generally do best sizing down one from their normal ladies' number, since the men's block runs longer and boxier through the body than a fitted women's cut at the same letter size.

The common mistake is assuming unisex means it fits everyone the same way. It fits everyone off the same chart, which is not the same claim — a woman and a man in the same labeled size will get a noticeably different fit through the shoulders, sleeve length, and body.
