Semi-Fitted
Semi-fitted is a tapered cut that follows the body's natural lines without hugging it, sitting between boxy and slim on most brand size charts.
On a fashion-brand spec sheet, semi-fitted sits in a narrow band: side seams taken in roughly 1-2 inches from a classic straight cut, shoulders and chest left at standard width, so the taper shows through the waist and torso instead of the whole silhouette.
Bella+Canvas's 3001 and Next Level's 3600 both get called semi-fitted even though neither brand prints that word on the tag — buyers learn to read it from the garment measurements instead, comparing chest width at the underarm against a boxier style like Gildan's 64000. It's the fit that shows up most on boutique and small-batch tees, where the brand wants shape without cutting separate men's and women's blocks.
When a supplier's spec sheet lists semi-fitted, pull the flat chest measurement at three sizes and compare the delta to their classic-fit line in the same collection — a 2-inch spread per size step is typical; anything closer to 3-4 inches is really a slim fit wearing a softer label. For mixed-gender team orders, this cut is often the safest single option to spec across sizes, since it reads flattering on more body types than a true slim block.
The mistake buyers make is assuming this fit runs true to a brand's classic style in the same size — because the pattern is narrower through the body, a semi-fitted large can measure closer to a classic medium, and skipping the size chart is how bulk orders come back requesting exchanges.
