Per-location pricing

Per-location pricing charges separately for each imprint area on a garment, so a front-and-back design prices out as two nearly separate print jobs.

Per-location pricing means every distinct spot ink touches on a garment, full front, full back, left chest, a sleeve, gets its own setup, its own screens or digitized file, and its own line on the quote, layered on top of per-color pricing for whatever's printed at each spot. A one-color front print and a one-color back print isn't a single two-color job; it's two separate one-color jobs stacked together.

For buyers, this is why adding a small back print to a front-only design can raise the price more than adding a second ink color would. We've had customers plan a "quick back number" on team shirts as an afterthought, only to see the quote jump by nearly the cost of the front print itself, because the back triggered its own setup fee and its own per-color charges independent of the front.

When budgeting a multi-location design, ask for pricing broken out location by location rather than just a bottom-line total — it makes clear where a small design change, dropping a back print to a small left-chest logo instead, actually saves money and where it doesn't. Locations also interact with press capacity: some equipment can only run so many spots per pass before a shirt needs manual repositioning, which adds labor cost too.

The common mistake is assuming a two-sided shirt is a minor upgrade from a one-sided one. Under per-location pricing it's closer to ordering two separate prints on the same garment, and the quote should be read that way from the start.
