Conveyor Dryer
A conveyor dryer is the tunnel oven that carries printed shirts on a mesh belt through a heated chamber so every piece cures at the same temperature.
A conveyor dryer looks like a stainless-steel tunnel with a mesh belt feeding through it, and it's where a freshly printed shirt goes to actually finish curing. Shirts ride the belt at a set speed — anywhere from three to six feet per minute depending on ink thickness — through a chamber heated by gas or electric elements to hit that peak plastisol cure temperature of around 320°F for the right dwell time before coming out the far end.
For the buyer, the conveyor dryer is why a shop can promise a print survives fifty washes instead of five: it applies heat evenly and consistently to every shirt in a batch, which a heat gun or a home iron simply can't match. On a run of hundreds of tees for a company picnic, belt speed gets tuned once at the start and every shirt gets identical treatment straight through — no operator judgment call per piece.
Dialing in a conveyor dryer means balancing belt speed against ink deposit: a heavy puff or high-density print needs a slower belt or a longer tunnel to cure all the way through without scorching the surface first, while a thin one-color print can run fast. Shops usually run a probe thermometer across the belt weekly to confirm actual shirt-surface temperature, since the dial setting and the real heat reaching the ink can drift apart over time.
Buyers sometimes picture this machine as basically a giant clothes dryer that just dries wet ink. It's closer to an industrial oven set to a precise temperature curve — running shirts through too fast or too cool is the single most common reason a print looks fine on delivery and fails in the wash a month later.
